(창 2:21-25)여호와 하나님이 아담을 깊이 잠들게 하시니 잠들매 그가 그 갈빗대 하나를 취하고 살로 대신 채우시고

(Genesis 2:21-25) So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.

(22)여호와 하나님이 아담에게서 취하신 그 갈빗대로 여자를 만드시고 그를 아담에게로 이끌어 오시니

The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.

(23)아담이 가로되 이는 내 뼈 중의 뼈요 살 중의 살이라 이것을 남자에게서 취하였은즉 여자라 칭하리라 하니라

The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man."

(24)이러므로 남자가 부모를 떠나 그 아내와 연합하여 둘이 한 몸을 이룰지로다

For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

(25)아담과 그 아내 두 사람이 벌거벗었으나 부끄러워 아니하니라

And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

(엡 5:22-32)아내들이여 자기 남편에게 복종하기를 주께 하듯 하라

(Ephesians 5:22-32) Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

(23)이는 남편이 아내의 머리됨이 그리스도께서 교회의 머리됨과 같음이니 그가 친히 몸의 구주시니라

For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.

(24)그러나 교회가 그리스도에게 하듯 아내들도 범사에 그 남편에게 복종할지니라

But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

(25)남편들아 아내 사랑하기를 그리스도께서 교회를 사랑하시고 위하여 자신을 주심 같이 하라

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,

(26)이는 곧 물로 씻어 말씀으로 깨끗하게 하사 거룩하게 하시고

so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

(27)자기 앞에 영광스러운 교회로 세우사 티나 주름잡힌 것이나 이런 것들이 없이 거룩하고 흠이 없게 하려 하심이니라

that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

(28)이와 같이 남편들도 자기 아내 사랑하기를 제 몸같이 할지니 자기 아내를 사랑하는 자는 자기를 사랑하는 것이라

So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;

(29)누구든지 언제든지 제 육체를 미워하지 않고 오직 양육하여 보호하기를 그리스도께서 교회를 보양함과 같이 하나니

for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,

(30)우리는 그 몸의 지체임이니라

because we are members of His body.

(31)이러므로 사람이 부모를 떠나 그 아내와 합하여 그 둘이 한 육체가 될지니

FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

(32)이 비밀이 크도다 내가 그리스도와 교회에 대하여 말하노라

This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.
